Dr. Hank Wheeler
Veterinarian
Dr. Hank Wheeler earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine (Go Dawgs!). He has spent his career serving the local community, building strong relationships with his patients and their owners. Dr. Wheeler values the opportunity to be a trusted partner in his clients’ lives and considers it a privilege to care for their pets as an extension of the family.
Dr. Wheeler has played a key role in the growth and development of Satilla Animal Hospital and is proud to be part of a dedicated, compassionate team. He is especially grateful for the relationships he has built over the years and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community he serves.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Wheeler enjoys spending time with his wife, Anna, and their family. They live on a small farm in nearby Pierce County, where life is busy and full, with a variety of animals including dogs, cats, cows, and donkeys. He is active in his church and community and participates in mission work both locally and abroad. He and his family feel truly blessed to be part of the Satilla Animal Hospital team and the community they call home.

Dr. Kenneth Blount
Veterinarian
Dr. Kenneth Blount earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine and began his career serving his hometown community of Waycross. Over the years, he has been instrumental in the growth and development of Satilla Animal Hospital, helping it evolve into a leading veterinary hospital serving multiple counties in Southeast Georgia.
Dr. Blount enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and is especially passionate about building relationships with his patients and their families. He has also mentored many aspiring veterinarians, supporting students as they pursue careers in veterinary medicine.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Blount enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, and land management. He also helps manage a family real estate business. He values spending time with his wife, Cristi, and their children, Gracelyn and Bridger. Their home includes several pets, including both cats and dogs.
